Frequently Asked Questions

What are your fees?
We strive for price transparency.  Our fees are simple.

  • One hour individual counseling session, $100
  • One hour couples/family counseling session, $125

What if I can’t afford the fee?

While we encourage private pay, we do understand that sometimes cost can be a factor in deciding to pursue healing.  We are able to take some insurances, and also offer some sliding scale rate sessions.  Please reach out to discuss options.

We also offer an e-book and video courses. Each is available for a reduced, one-time price. We believe everyone deserves access to affordable counseling, whether that is talk therapy, video courses, or self-help therapy materials.

What is talk therapy?

Talk therapy is a collaborative process between the client and the counselor. The client brings their own lived experiences as well as their natural ability to regulate their body, mind, and spirit. The counselor brings knowledge about behavior patterns and relationship dynamics, as well as the ability to hold up a mirror and help the client understand themselves. Together, the two of them create a path toward lasting, positive change.

Why teletherapy?

All of our sessions are conducted via a HIPAA compliant teletherapy video call. All intake forms are filled out online over a secure system.

We find our clients appreciate the ease of access. We are also not limited to only our immediate area; with teletherapy sessions, we can serve anyone who resides in Missouri!

What kinds of therapy do you use?

Our trained, licensed therapists will customize their approach specifically for your needs. Types of therapy we may use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness, biofeedback therapy and somatic experiencing.

Why do you encourage private pay?

Counseling is an investment in your mental (and physical) health and wellness.

Insurance companies require a diagnosis to submit claims. We feel that not only do we protect your privacy by protecting that information from your medical record, it allows us the freedom to provide the best service to you. This also avoids insurance companies limiting the number of sessions based on whether or not your care is deemed medically necessary. You should not have to put a label on your struggles to find healing.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
