Not Just Words, LLC, offers professional counseling services to men and women all over Missouri who are
struggling under difficult circumstances and seeking personal fulfillment through honest self-development.

CHOICE

For many of us life happens so fast that it seems like all we can do to hold on and react to the next crisis. A goal of therapy is to provide time for reflection and insight that allows us to manage our lives rather than having our lives manage us. Therapy increases understanding of intrapersonal cycles/habits, interpersonal interaction patterns and clarifies values to allow an individual to live a life of determined choice and personal satisfaction.

BALANCE

The individual is made of many parts. These aspects of the individual interact and can be in conflict or harmony. When our parts are in conflict we experience self-doubt, ambivalence, impulsive behaviors, emotional reactivity, and shame. Balance requires understanding these parts and aligning them to allow for optimal and healthy living.

PROCESS

The work of healing and bringing harmony to the whole person happens step-by-step over time. There are moments when progress seems very slow and moments when progress takes a leap forward. The pace of change is influenced by many factors: current environment, receptivity to new ways of seeing things, external supports, internal resources, and time spent in practice. Growth is a life-long process of increasing awareness and learning adaptation.

ABOUT TALK THERAPY

Talk therapy is a collaborative process between the client and the counselor that helps an individual to access their own natural ability to organize and regulate their body, mind, and spirit. This process occurs at its own pace. The pace of change is influenced by many factors: current environment, receptivity to new ways of seeing things, supports, resources, and time spent in practice. A therapist brings knowledge about intrapersonal dynamics and objective mirroring to assist a person in understanding themselves (past and present) so as to make desired change.

WHY TELE-THERAPY?

All of our sessions are conducted via a HIPAA compliant tele-therapy video call. All intake forms are filled out online over a secure system.

The COVID-19 Pandemic made choosing tele-therapy simple. Aside from the social-distancing benefits, we also find that our clients appreciate the ease of access and decreased need to reschedule due to weather or illness.

We are also not limited to only our immediate area; with tele-therapy sessions, we can serve anyone who resides in Missouri!

WHY ARE YOU PRIVATE PAY?

Counseling is an investment in your mental (and physical) health and wellness.

Insurance companies require a diagnosis to submit claims. We feel that not only do we protect your privacy by protecting that information from your medical record, it allows us the freedom to provide the best service to you. It is not necessary to put a label on your struggles to find healing.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
